I think you can only do one internship if you’re enrolled at MAS NY because of state laws. I’d recommend going to MAS SF and spending your second year interning in New York if you’re committed to starting your career there. Or go to Miami Ad School Berlin because it’s cheaper and the curriculum is better.
They did the same bait-and-switch to me at the NY location: didn’t mention until orientation that we couldn’t intern outside of NY, and would only be able to intern at one agency for one quarter. People who go to other base schools can intern at 4 agencies and end up with contacts all over the world. I still would have gone there, it’s just something to consider going in.
If you’re gonna spend the money, then just got o VCU or Circus.
I went to AdHouse and SVA portfolio program. It really held me back not having an ad school on my resume, but frankly I’m at a solid agency now and enjoy my job so...grass is always greener I guess.
I’ve taken classes at AdHouse as well. Curious to know more about your experience, if you’d be down to discuss further.
MAD in general is a good way to meet people in the industry. Their internship programs are great. I got hired straight out of my internship from someone that was at the agency.

But the fact that we have to pay more money to get more education to get into more debt after going to a 4 year college to work in an advertising agency is downright crazy. How do regular schools not cover this?
If I could do it again, I would go to MAS Europe. Curriculum and resources are better. Even the managing staff there sounds way more invested in giving their students a great education/industry connections.
If you really want to do MAD, I agree with the above comment of considering SF. Three/four internship in your second year is an excellent opportunity that you may not get in other ad schools. Tip: DONT do the Miami location. Any other campus is better.
If you’re not married to MAD, consider DAD (Denver Ad School). It’s a new program but the curriculum looks great. Jealous that they began during my final quarters at MAS. You can find their first round of graduates’ portfolio on LinkedIn.
Yes, MAS Berlin has all English classes so you would be fine.
I didn’t go to ad school, and in NYC, I can say it had been a big barrier to getting into the bigger agencies compared to friends who have gone.
Currently experiencing the same, I don’t think some of my ad school friends that got recruited at big name agencies are really that great 😬
Denver Ad School is the future. Every one of those kids is landing at top tier shops. Plus, ya know, it's way less money.

Astoria, closer to LIC. But still remote for now.
I went to MAS NY. if I could do it over, I’d got to VCU instead.
