Although, I am happy with my current position as a respiratory therapist, there seems to be not a lot career growth with where the department I currently work in within my healthcare system. 6 months pregnant and just laid off. And 40% of my severance was just taken in taxes .. I just spoke with paid family leave and I no longer qualify even though I had been paying into the program (thanks NY).. I already applied for unemployment but doctors are telling me I’ve got 10-14 weeks left in this pregnancy.. so stressed having twins and being unemployed, no maternity leave, no paychecks coming in, and I’ve been applying but not a single interview.. just ugh. 😭

Taking my shot in tech sales. Consulting was great experience but enjoyed the relationship and BD aspect more and didn’t see myself climbing to partner. Starting in a junior BD Rep role to learn prospecting and earn quota history. Took a big paycut for the potential future earnings as an Account Exec. Did I dun goof? Probably. I work as a Business Development Manager at a sports club.. I’ve been given a couple of months “trial” in the 6 figure and above sales in which I don’t see going back to my other role on lower sales. This was a somewhat good move for me until I consider missing out on commission each month that was more than my salary. (£25k salary, over £2k per month commission)
How do I go about raising this concern? I believe I should be paid more now and at least change my job title?

I've heard a couple of things about how the partner pension amount @ PwC is determined, both similar in approach.

Both calculations I have heard of result in an annuity paid until death, at which point a surviving spouse (if any) receives the annuity.

The first calculation I have heard is that you get 80% of your highest earning year as a partner (e.g. If your best year was $1M, you'd get $800k as an annuity).

The second calculation I have heard is that they look at your three highest earning years as a partner, and take the second highest and you get 100% of that. (e.g if your three highest earning years were $1M, $800k, and $1.2M, you'd receive $1M as an annuity).

Is ANY of this true, or just all rumor? Any PwC partners that can chime in and explain the pension plan fact for fact? Perhaps with sample numbers?
