Hi there! In my experience when I moved from market research to UX, I started earning around $90K (as a contractor) vs my salary in market research, which was $65K. But things have been extra difficult this year, and I’ve been seen jobs that pay around $80K per year ;(
Honestly, it has always been difficult to start off in a UX role, even in the boom times of the past several years. You might have a slightly easier time getting a research role given your MR background. But most UX designers that I know started off doing non-paid or freelance roles to build up their portfolio. Boot camp projects typically all look alike because you have not had the experience working in a cross functional team and managing stakeholders.

Depending on where you live and whether the job is remote or on-site, ranges are 75 to 115K. Higher salaries can be obtained with a great portfolio and relevant tech, design, and research skills.

75-100k
Salaries are probably going down at least for anyone with less than 3 yrs. I've seen some starting at $70K for 3yrs experience and you need to know how to code. Supply and demand. There is a lot of supply of UXers and a lot of UXers demanding jobs, so the market is going to bottom out.
So I interviewed for a junior role that was around 85K. It was also at an agency, and agencies usually pay lower. A different role at a different agency was 75K but everyone at that company knew all salaries were being low balled. It’s not unreasonable for something to be in the 80/90K range
Hope this helps!
