What is the normal time companies give to decide on an offer? I’m at the end of the process with one company (think an offer is a potential) but still in round 2 with another, so trying to estimate timeframes

At most, a few days. You can always accept and rescind your acceptance if a better offer comes along.

It shouldn't take too long. You can always accept the other offer down the line if they end up offering you more money or better benefits and just let the first company know. It would probably burn a bridge with the first company, but you need to do what's in your best interest.

100% depends on how you were recruited and the situation of the company. I have been offered positions in less than 24 hours of an interview and my partner experienced a 2 month offer delay because they felt he was a great fit but didn’t finish setting up the team and office and overestimated the interview process.

is anyone familiar with pay differentials, negotiating for a temporary raise or some other form of compensation for extra work? 3 coworkers on my team have recently resigned, and certain shifts are being expected to work at half staff until new hires can be brought on. if my workload is being doubled, i expect to be compensated, as they are paying one employee to do the work of two. any suggestions or wording on how to address this?

I’m currently in a lease admin type role, in commercial real estate. I make a base salary of $50.5K with about $9k in bonuses. I’ve continuously received 7-10% raises over the last 3 years. I anticipate getting a promotion this year and would like to get closer to $60k for my base salary. I’m the only person in my role at the company and have been a key person in developing our team as we look to expand. Is this unreasonable? Is there a normal increase given with promotions? Thanks in advance!

I’m interviewing with a startup and the range has a 40k difference from the lowest to highest point. It’s also pre-seed and comes with equity, and health, 401k benefits. It’s a director of sales role so I would eventually be recruiting and managing a team along with building the processes and strategy. What would you consider a fair compensation package? If they offer me something on the lower end of the range, is it still appropriate to counter with an offer that is over their stated range?

This is the first time I've considered work outside of higher education. I said my salary expectations are minimum $90k and that didn't seem to be an issue. Am I asking too little, too much? How can I know I'm getting the best salary and not just settling at the low end of the range?
