Looking for a home office chair…I need something really ergonomic/comfortable but given the visibility of the office in the house the wife wants something stylish. She keeps calling all my ideas ‘gamer chairs’ even though they’re definitely not. Anyone have any chairs they really like that may be worth looking at? Spent the pandemic working on myself, got sober, focused on working out, left the music industry and started a career where I can make money and have a steady work schedule. I work on a team that is 95% H1b (it’s really just me and 1 other on a team that’s 20+). The client has a few topics that are restricted to US citizens on US soil only. Still in a pandemic. Hiring freezes are still in place. Seeing a lot of local businesses go under. Do you think things will turn around in September or get worse? Do you think there will be more layoffs or terms “due to performance” and more businesses lost?

Has anyone here renegotiated their salary after a short time being in a role? I accepted a position and I like what I do but I realize that the workload requires a lot to see success and I feel a bit burned out already with my 40 hours/week and occasional extra 30 minutes to an hour a day.

I am stuck between putting in my time and showing my value and asking for an increase to validate doing so to avoid job hopping after a year or so.
