Principal means they're aligned to Thought Leadership rather than C&M or CDO. This means their goals are not chargability, rather publications, patents, etc. The Director part means their rank is similar to MD, rather than lower CLs.
Sometimes ACN will hire in at L5 (Principal Director) if a L4 (MD) hire takes too long. So L5 as a promotion is a consolation / expert role but new hires at L4 are likely Pre-MD.
What's a principle director?
Supreme Leader
Deloitte intern
Ruler
I don't know. That's why I asked the question 😁
I mean I'm saying I work for accenture and I don't know either. It's M-SM-Associate Director-MD here.
Probably partner? At EY it’s:
Staff
Senior consultant
Manager
Senior manager
Partner
Or maybe it's Principal Director. Man, It's the first day of my holiday I don't know what's up or down right now lol 😂. So, it's the level between SM and MD. Most people don't progress there normally. You either top out at SM or jump to MD. An MD prospect I'm friends with was just given the Principal Director/Level5 promotion... they called it a "consolation prize" and were not too pleased. I've only met one other PD in my few years here.
Principle director is a designation given to specific leadership, I've seen it in the context of level 5 which doesn't normally exist in the traditional org structure
A former coworker of mine jumped to Accenture at this level
So principal director is essentially between senior manager and managing director?
Yup!
Are md and partner the same level or does it go md -> partner
MD is partner at accenture. It's L4. Then there's Sr MD at L3. Not sure about title for L2 but L1 is Pierre 😁
It is actually the gray area between MD/Partner and Sr.Manager. Other firms don’t have it. So depending on your experience it can either be a Senior Manager or Principal/Partner at a Big 4.
