I've been interviewing with some companies, and now I have to decide between JPMorgan Chase and Globant.
Globant is more innovative, and has remote work. I will enter to work with a Sillicon Valley startup based in San Francisco. The tech stack is React, Nextjs, AWS, and a serverless architecture.
JPM is semi remote, and less innovative. The tech stack Java, SpringBoot and AWS. But I'd do more migration tasks, like dockerize projects and pass them to kubernetes. What would you choose?

Identify the actionable feedback and try not to make the same mistake. Focus on that instead of their frustrations. You can control your actions and not their reactions.
This is great- thank you!
Listen to the feedback but don't pay attention to the emotions that were involved when said feedback was provided.
Different people have different communication styles.
I also make a conscious effort not to react immediately to the feedback. I will think about it and that helps. Also it doesn't allow the situation to escalate and the initial feedback can be reviewed again in a more conducive setting.
There are also times when the feedback is useless and it's best to let it go in one ear and out the other and I simply move on to the next thing I need to take care of.
Knowing when to do one or the other got me my thick skin. It takes time so don't be too hard on yourself. :)
This is extremely helpful- really appreciate your input. Love the last line :)
Also, before you take Evey feedback and act on it, think about how it helps your career long term. Otherwise you'd be lost of originality and constantly adapting to please and will perpetually always be in this mode. True story. I should've let some feedback slide by coz it wasn't worth it to make that change.
So true- thank you so much
Have a life and purpose outside of work.
Also have a good savings account / support network in case you lose your job.
This will make the ups and downs of work not impact you as much, and also make you more effective because you'll feel safe to be honest / speak your mind / take risks when needed.
Definitely- Thank you so much for sharing this!
Stop caring. It’s SO hard but once you develop this ability to not give a singular f about what people say and focus on your long term career objectives - life becomes much easier
100%- I needed to hear this! Thank you so much
Yes following 100%
It helps for me to separate my work from who I am. I am not my work, so if there’s criticism on my work, I try not to take it as criticism on who I am as a person. People look at things from their unique lens of personal preferences, past experiences, etc. so most of the time, criticism isn’t directly about you.
Would also suggest the book “Self Compassion” by Kristin Neff. It explains how many people are taught to think about themselves based on other people’s opinions and tactical advice on developing more self compassion.
Thank you! I'm going to look into that book
