There is zero personal or business benefit to me showing up at my office. Zero.
But there are significant intrinsic and extrinsic costs to do so.
No amount of increase will incentivize me to go into the office at all.
This is the way.
What's interesting about many of these replies is that no one REALLY calculates "commuting time" correctly.
At home you get your coffee and in my case, go upstairs to my loft where my home office is. That's it, I am productively at work.
I go into the office, it isn't just driving -- it's all the prep time, eating dressing packing out all at SPECIFIC times based on what type of traffic you want to avoid (or higher costs of metro and other mass transit type commutes)
You have to head out to your car load up etc etc before you ever start driving.
THEN when the DRIVING part of your commute is over there is the park/walk set-everything-up in whatever workspace you have (which may change continually) before you can actually DO anything. So your commute time is way more than whatever Google Maps says the "drive time" is
I'd much rather get on an airplane and go be on a client SITE then ever go back into a local office on a daily basis.
Thissssss‼️
From fully remote? No less than 25%
Honestly would take a paycut if it meant out of consulting
I’m doing it VP!
150% minimum
75%… 5days a week is insane. we were only 4 days a week pre covid 😌
At least 50%, I live in Florida, it’s a lot more expensive than it used to be.

15% - commute, parking and inconvenience fee
You gotta pump those numbers up, those are rookie numbers
One person I know works at a place where they get 15 mins of leave for every day they go to the office. That would work for me, for sure...
It’s a nod to giving people (some of) their commute time back for the week which is reasonable I’d say
Also - I think we are all capable of giving ourselves 15/20 minutes back per day if we wanted to right? Suppose I’m trying to say it would not incentivise me at that level an not sure I know anyone who would think that is enough to tempt them into the office
We only have to be in 2 days per week and it’s not policed (yet!) I’d hope the reward would be reflective of the time and money spent to do so
id say 50% IF that means we are going back to sensible office spaces. (closed private space) and big/silent cubicles.
Its a big commute.
If it were 10 minutes or less from my house, maybe 10% increase?
If we are keeping this open office hell, 100%.
And signing off at 5 sharp
There have been studies on this. The transition from remote to hybrid work is typically valued at around 20%, with an additional 15% for moving from hybrid to fully in-office. So, approximately 35% is the point where most employers are willing to pay a premium, and employees are likely to accept
We weren’t IN the office pre-covid. We were at the client site. I feel like alot of people have forgotten that.
The clients largely don’t want us onsite now because of the added costs, and they saw we can do the same work remotely.
If my clients wanted me onsite and would pay for it, I’d go.
But don’t gaslight me and say it’s a return to normal to be in the office when it’s just performative or a justification for having a large office rental cost.
Yes, in person time with your team and coworkers can be valuable. But those times should be directed and when they make sense, like monthly meetings or town halls.

400%
I would take a 20% pay cut for the pleasure of spending more time with my team!!
The amount it costs to take public transportation ($475 a month MTA) plus time lost commuting
20%, the sheer traffic and general inconvenience are major reasons , but I save money with home cooked meals which isn’t feasible in the office
i would need 120k more
off of 330k
$3.50
Realistically 400% would have me eager for the opportunity. Otherwise I am tied to one location working towards a bigger box. I want to live
