Although my title is a consultant, my role entails the usual responsibilities of a PM (prioritizing builds and features, identifying business requirements, mapping user journeys and stakeholder management). Does anyone have any advice on ways to break into tech or suggestions of companies to look into?

Management consultant evaluating an offer from Google’s Go-to-market team (Strategy & Operations) in India. Two questions:
1. Given it’s an internal consulting role, are the hours equally bad / worse than consulting firms?
2. Is it virtually impossible to move to a product ladder after spending 1-2 yrs in the role?

Got hired 3 years ago- newly created staff accountant role with the plan that it’ll go into a senior and then manager role. 1.5 years in I get a title promotion to senior, told I’ll get more duties, start supervising AP, and get monetary promotion to match next year. Got way more work, but nothing else promised within that year. Told next money bump would be manager role (no raise for senior still) and I need to take on more and start supervising AP. Again, seeing nothing…time to leave?
