What tips would anyone give to someone who is looking to make a switch in job fields i’ve always gotten a job within physical work (warehouses , cart pushing, etc.) due to feeling i couldn’t get a call or acceptance from jobs that actually require other types of skills such as technician or a jeweler or anything due to only having a hs diploma and no experience to back it up what’s something that could help to get started on a new path? sorry for long message

3L with mostly A’s and B’s. I am having the worst luck trying to find work for after school and my experience working with lawyers has left me completely dejected. I cannot get an interview to save my life. I was so excited to get an externship summer after 2L with a small business and IP firm only to get yelled at on the phone a few times for not doing an assignment correctly. Mind you, I was working FOR FREE as it was a school connected externship. That made me never want to work in the law.

Anyone aware of the IBM new centre being opened at mysore ?

So my VP at my previous company felt bad and refused to speak to me or attend my farewell after my resignation. His reason was that I somehow betrayed his trust as he had promoted me just last year (after keeping the position open for 4 months and letting me take additional work load after the previous SM left!). Does this make any sense? I mean where does this sense of entitlement or ownership over the employees come from? No wonder the company in question is kind of facing a literal exodus!

I am having 2.5 years experience in the IT sector on vision plus as a software engineer (before joining the bank). I have an offer for a company abroad. Originally they wanted me to fly out and start the day after Thanksgiving (not celebrated in their country), but because of the holidays I suggested starting in either December or January with the ability to take some holiday days in December to fly back home for Christmas. Anyone know what would be the level and salary range I can expect if I try to transition to a sales job? Currently an operation manager making around 130k a year. Have about 3 years of management experience and 2.5 years of low tier sales experience.

Why is education deemed more valuable on a pay scale than experience? Employers will pay someone with a degree and no experience a greater salary, than someone who has exhibited the experience. Understanding that the degreed person committed to school and finished, yet that doesn't diminish what the not degreed has committed to and accomplished in their careers. This has to stop!

Anyone struggling with imposter syndrome? When I worked for a very well known Fortune500 tech company I couldn't help but feel major imposter syndrome. One- I am a woman in a male dominated industry, I didn't go to a prestigious school like most of my peers and I just didn't think I deserved to be there. Everyday was a struggle and tried to keep myself small so no one would find out I was a "fraud." Looking back on it now, wiser and more experienced, I realized how detrimental feeling that way

I have an urgent situation that I need advice for: what job to take? I currently have 2 job offers. Offer A (Scientist 3): 70k with full benefits including 15 PTO days and 5k tuition assistance yearly. It was sent to me last Wednesday and yesterday they left me a voicemail asking for a decision at my earliest convenience. Offer B (Manager): 76k with full benefits minus tuition assistance and only 5 PTO days first year (15 days after). Both companies said they'd groom me to take management roles.

I have over 12 years in B2B sales/sales management experience along with a graduate degree. I am wanting to shift gears and I am at a point where I can invest time in myself to learn through practical experience. The new industry I am wanting to pursue is real estate investment. I have read all the books but want some hands on experience on the property management side. Not sure whether to be honest or not in this situation. I have decided that I want to leave my job and do a masters degree. I’m planning to leave my job at the end of June, should I warn my boss now so she can start hiring? I don’t want her to be blindsided by my decision and hiring is very slow at the moment. Plus if they hire someone I can train the transition will be easier? But I don’t want to shoot myself in the foot if they were thinking or giving me a pay rise or promoting me?

I'm currently making a career pivot and have gained a significant amount of experience during my MBA but still a bit in that pivot stage.. Has anyone worked for or with any corporate VCs, VCs with some sort of business development or other support, innovation labs, incubators, or similar places that you enjoyed?
