I was just offered a CUNY role. The title is Higher Education Assistant. According to Glassdoor, the average annual pay for that role is $83,418. However, I was offered $62,500. I requested for the minimum annual salary to be 75k. Does anyone have experience navigating the CUNY system and their pay?

At another job, got offered $300k. Told them too low and got added $120k sign on bonus.

No. I specialize in one area that if there’s a job posting in my specialization, I have a 70% chance I’ll get the job when I apply.
Doubled what I made in a year by switching employers from union (pay rate restricted by a bargaining agreement) to non union, and because of performance (and the company paying employees that make them money fairly) I added another 20% on top of the double last year, between a raise and bonuses.
I have never successfully negotiated a significant wage increase with a current employer, but when looking for a job, the LOWEST increase in wage over the previous/ current employer I have taken is $5/hr in my current career,
Ok - this is sad compared to everyone else who’s winning in life on here. But - it is the only time I’ve negotiated. I was offered a new role within my company that I interviews for. Offer was $71,400. I countered and they agreed to meet me at 74,133. I mean.. I guess it’s a little more than my previous job (on paper). I think I could’ve gotten paid more staying at my old job because it paid overtime. But that means I’m working longer hours.
