It’s like they have a god complex or something even with proof, maybe bc of their tenure at the company? Even if there’s valid data backing up that they’re wrong. We have a large unused professional library that includes a variety of authors, topics, and lots of the scholastic teaching resource books. Most are more than 5 years old, some much older. Some multiple copies of titles that were book studies over the years. No one is using these books and we need the space. I hate to just dump them in a trash bin. After setting them out for people to pick through at school, what can be done with these materials?

I am looking for ideas for a high school intervention class with students reading at PP-4th. I am a brand new teacher and have never taught intervention but we are extremely short staffed. I inherited the class mid-last semester and the former teacher had no framework whatsoever. I'm pulling grade level texts and trying to work on reading fluency and comprehension but don't feel like what I'm doing is effective, and the students are not very engaged. Any great resources I should check out?

What broad computer-based assessments does your school use? We used STAR testing, but we switched to iReady. I can't stand iReady. It's such a long test, which means kids rush. Any alternatives?
