Need advice. Very Shy guy and girl, met a while back for a side hustle both like each other a LOT, relationship has progressed in other areas but not in the physical realm, primarily because neither officially asked the other out. I graduated last year with a master’s in reading education. I was looking forward to getting hired as a reading specialist/literacy coach. However, I was just offered a job as a math coach. 🤦🏼‍♀️ I know a lot of reading strategies can be applied in math, but I’m feeling a bit indecisive about accepting the position. I teach in a third and fourth grade school. What criteria do other schools use for determining when students should receive reading support?

I am currently one of two reading teachers at the high school I work in and three in the district, which consists of two high schools. What broad computer-based assessments does your school use? We used STAR testing, but we switched to iReady. I can't stand iReady. It's such a long test, which means kids rush. Any alternatives?

We have a large unused professional library that includes a variety of authors, topics, and lots of the scholastic teaching resource books. Most are more than 5 years old, some much older. Some multiple copies of titles that were book studies over the years. No one is using these books and we need the space. I hate to just dump them in a trash bin. After setting them out for people to pick through at school, what can be done with these materials?
