Looking at some SVP roles for technology / controls in the Southwest region. Glassdoor indicates $185-240k as range base comp, and target of $185-205k for average base. Is that accurate?
Glassdoor also targets $40k for variable comp. average. Is that accurate?

I studied Dyslexia and found that it’s very difficult to officially diagnose by a neuropsychologist ($$$) and it didn’t change the interventions we could provide. Each student is so different and even the programs we use that are supposed to effectively instruct dyslexia...I have found to fall short. Our brains are too complex so, yes, I feel overwhelmed with trying to meet the needs of students with reading disabilities.

Yes, to diagnose it does take a neuropsychologist ($$$). But, we can screen for dyslexia if trained.
According to Michael Yudin, US Dept. of Education,
Letter to Colleague dated Oct. 23, 2015, "The purpose of this letter is to clarify that there is nothing in the IDEA that would
prohibit the use of the terms dyslexia, dyscalculia, and dysgraphia in IDEA evaluation, eligibility
determinations, or IEP documents."
We can add, "Shows characteristics of dyslexia, dysgraphia, or dyscalculia, etc.". PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP ON OVER 20% OF OUR STUDENTS WITH DYSLEXIA.
I plan to start classes soon for SpEd Reading with a concentration in Dyslexia. What do I have to look forward to?
Victories and smiles on students' faces as they read aloud instead of hiding!
Please do not give up on learning something new like the O-G approach. I was scrolling through this feed and found your comments responding to being overwhelmed. I want to give you a couple of reasons for NOT giving up. Sorry, this is long but I want to share.
First, my son had private tutoring from age 4 - 13. He was tested by school psychologists 3 times during grade school at their requests only to be told that he could do the work if only he was not so 'lazy'. He held himself back in 3rd grade saying he wants to get caught up. He learned his 1-12 multiplication tables in three weeks in 3rd, but could not read a child's Golden book.
At age 13, he told me "I can understand what I read if I could just understand the words." That afternoon, I called Dr. Bruno's Reading Center and without seeing him, she told me what he had been doing. I asked her how do you know this and she replied, "Bring this baby to me, this is what I do". Five weeks later after an intensive OG reading intervention program, he stood behind the couch (sister, brother, dad & I) were sitting on and read the rolling credits on the TV screen. Our heads immediately popped around to see him, and, he replied, "pretty cool, huh".
The next week, he approached his principal and asked to be moved back to his original class. This was the end of 5th grade and after completing 6th, he moved to middle school with his class after he made an agreement with this new principal to meet state requirements. Note... by learning dyslexia is hereditary, we discovered my husband a professional chef also was dyslexic but hid his lack of reading. Son was so hell-bent on not being labeled and succeeding, he applied for, tested, and entered Mater Dei HS.
Today, he makes $200K a year with perks, owns a home in San Clemente, CA, drives a Range Rover and Harley, and his son just completed his Juris Doctorate. He has told my students in HS that he has done all of this as not to be labeled "Lazy, Stupid, and Dumb." THANK YOU, DR. BRUNO! I am paying it forward as an Ed Therapist with an EdD focused on inclusive education.
OK, so that was a personal success story and with 15 yrs in the classroom, success stories are not common.
YOU HAVE THE ABILITY TO CHANGE STUDENTS' LIVES!
YOU ARE THE NEW, Dr. Bruno!
So, now, here is what happens if you don't move forward to support students with dyslexia. They are warehoused in special day classes for anywhere from 12-15 years of schooling without know-how or why they cannot read. I have a senior rt now that has been on my caseload for 4 years. As a 9th grader, I fully assessed him for dyslexia. He checked off so many boxes & I found that his dad and grandfather struggled w/ reading. Mom sat across the table from me during IEP asking why he can't read. I was mandated to keep my mouth shut. I tried to add the following line to his IEP, "shows characteristics of dyslexia" but the dept. said no and the union said don't make problems for yourself. (1)
(2) He recently told me that he is tired of struggling while his friends read so easily. PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP! We have too many that are excluded from learning. YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE! The OG approach is not that hard to understand once you know the rules and you can even learn more along the way...
