Why not just wait until they are in Monday afternoon?
Oh fair. Sorry.
Do not do it by email. People hate that. But if you hate them, I guess who cares?
I wrote up a resignation letter and gave it to our office manager and told her not to tell anyone until I talked to the partners I wanted to talk to. Then called the partners I work with in order of level of respect for them. By the time I got to the ones I didn't like much/are known for being jerks, they had already found out via back channels and would not take my calls.

I would do it by email (and set out exactly what you mean) but then follow up with a call pretty much straight away…
Don’t do it by email. Definitely do it by phone and explain that you would have waited to do it in person, but needed your last day to be the 17th. Frankly, if you will need these people as references in the future, I’d strongly consider waiting to do it in person, even if that messes with your two week notice.
I gave notice at my last job over the phone because the partner I worked with most, who I wanted to tell first, worked out of a different office. I just called them, said I wish I could have told them in person, but I was giving notice and my last day would be X.
Do it by phone and follow up with email thanking them and telling them how you enjoyed working with them. Tell them you hate to have to give them notice over the phone but your last day must be 12/17.
