You could maybe transfer to audit or find a FP&A or other industry accounting role. But I was in the same boat and chose MBA and it was a great decision. Happy to chat more

What do you want to do? Or what do you find interesting? Accountants are able to pivot to other areas and there is much more to accounting than just tax.

I’m trying to figure out what other avenues that people took and end up liking? I heard FPA is a common one. But what type of other accounting are there that we can get into?

Can you tell us what you do and don't like about tax?

I'm in a tax specialty role. Something like that may interest you but it depends on what you dislike about tax.

You could enter a niche market within the tax industry, like Cost Segregation.

Also Property Management / Hotel / Travel is a fun field where accounting is a major necessity. Plus it would come with perks depending on the company.

So I recently got a job offer on the brand side, as a marketing specialist in Canada for a reputable company likes of Loblaws, Shell, Sobeys, Canadian Tire. Do you think all these violent and hate filled attacks are because people aren't getting the emotional/mental support they need, whether it's therapy at any age or help they needed but didn't get from a social worker as a child? My coworker is sure this is the case, but I honestly think there's actually something deeper wrong either with how these people are being raised as children, or how the warning signs these people give off are ignored or swept under the rug to save face.

Received a job offer. Was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on a concern I had about it. It's an entry level position, and I don't have much experience. The billables are 2040 a year. For billable hours in civil litigation and insurance defense, is 2040 hours for a 1st year associate on the high end in this field for a small or midsize firm? It seems like most attorneys I know have minimum requirements of around 1800. The compensation is around 80k a year.
