Making 125k and live in Vancouver very comfortably. 1BR rent, great lifestyle, i feel comfortable traveling, and I’m saving a meaningful amount.
Just did the math and I agree with you. 125k is good for that rent and live and save comfortable as a single person. Good find on the apartment! Any tips especially on the area? I’m seeing 3k for a lot of places
Don’t come here. You’ll regret it.
I thought contractors make good $!
The problem with the word “comfortably” is this:
That varies a lot from one person to another. And employers know this.
Sharing a basement with 7 other guys can be comfortable to some but if you had a half decent life, you need at least $120k to live comfortably. And that is without saving a meaningful amount. And it is really hard finding those jobs in Canada becuse there is always 1000 other people willing to do double the work for half the comp.
Folks like us?
I left Montreal but is a lot cheaper than Toronto. I was able to save a lot there.
At least $120k-$150k a year
That would luxury goals maybe my cat will live there
$100K - $200K depending on who you ask. “Comfortable” is highly subjective.
Haha yeah that’s a big range
It may be different for either cities. I am from Toronto but assuming Vancouver is more expensive
How would you define “comfortable”? I feel like the term is very subjective and depends on the lifestyle you’re used to/looking for, and whether you have any debt whatsoever.
Going out for food a few times a week will run up your numbers significantly. You’ll be spending at least $150 between two people for a dinner out
Single while being smart with money or Single while being sloppy with finances? Haha
Not bad not penny pinching 😂 would like to be better
