They want to paper file.
They argue on pricing.

They want my cell phone number at the first meeting. Not to arrange a place to meet, or anything. Just so they have it. I know (or have been told) that they'll call/text frequently to check on the status of things.
Covid really blurred the line for when clients would use the cell phone. Fortunately I’m seeing a shift back to the office phone as the primary number for clients to call.
-“my last CPA billed me for every time I called” for a 1040 client
-I wasn’t a big enough operation for my last CPA
-not disclosing money still owed to IRS for prior year(a)
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
1. Client is hard to get a hold of, and generally unresponsive.
2. Client has high turnover and says everything should be better this year
3. He asks whether we will be charging him for todays introduction meeting
I always bill a client when they don’t show for a meeting, but doing that does not fix the problem. If a client is missing meetings that they requested to have and not rescheduling in advance then that means the client is either not organized or does not consider my time to be as valuable as theirs. Both of those are a problem and not the type of client I want to have regardless of how much they are willing to pay because their expectations are that they can throw money at me and I will come when they call me and drop everything for them. I am not interested in clients that are not interested in a collaborative partnership.

The pbcs are written on paper or pieces of paper in a shoebox
If they balk on your fee and asked for certain payroll set up fees to be waived. I took this client and am currently regretting it.
If they try and bring you down on fees day 1.
That’s what I’m saying! It’s even more aggravating when I know I am a fair biller.
