Stopped scrolling my phone, stopped doing other things while I am with people. If I’m with you, I’m with you - not texting or watching videos. I’m fully paying attention, listening and talking to you. It has changed my life.
Yes, I wish more people would do this. It’s how everyone used to be. Now we’re surrounded by zombies.
Going out alone

Solo travel to foreign places is the best. You get so much more out of it.
Focused on friendships that truly mattered and stopped worrying about those who are not as invested in the friendships as I was.
Two things, both health-related:
(1A) - Get at least 7 hours sleep each night
(1B) - Wake up @ 05:00 each day
(1C) - Work out every day for @ least 1 hour
(2) - Minimise screen time, maximise me time
Yup. I used to not go to bed until midnight but still wake by 05:30. I was cheating myself of valuable and necessary rest. Learned the hard way to prioritise sleep after an unexpected health matter.
If you make the bed a place for not sleeping it gets real hard to fall asleep in bed.
So . . .
Read on the couch sleep in the bed. Play with your phone on the couch sleep in the bed. Watch TV from the couch sleep in the bed. Etc.
Sleeping with people is okay though. Because it has the word sleeping in there.
Workout 3-4 times a week especially when I wfh
Meditate. I do TM, but there are lots of different ways to do it.. 20 minutes twice a day will change your life.
Staying still for 20 mins is a like a feat for me. 🤣
Setting myself more firm boundaries at work. We obviously work in a largely deadline-based industry so the occasional late night is of course necessary. But when it comes to non-urgent matters, I've stopped responding to the after-hours Slack messages and e-mails. I encourage my team to do the same or at the very least do an e-mail schedule send so it arrives, say, first thing in the morning.
Always having a side hustle. You will learn so much about business, marketing, relationship management, branding, sales, etc.. And you learn tons from every failure or failed business you attempt to create too. Plus, it might just help insulate you from job loss or cuts to your salary— which are becoming more and more common.
I make my bed every morning. Been doing it for about 10 years now and can’t believe I used to only make my bed if guests were coming over.
Having a positive mental mindset and living I gratitude
Prepping all my lunches and dinners for the work week on Sunday, so I never have to face the "what's for lunch / dinner" crisis on top of work stress. It takes one thing off my to do list, keeps me healthy, and provides more time to decompress in the evenings.
Oooh good one. I don't *fully* do this but as someone who lives alone I will occasionally grill in bulk early in the week. For example, I'm currently marinating five chicken breasts to throw on tonight.
Realizing that people either like me for who I am or they don’t. But I can’t force them to like me.
Working out for one hour daily (Tracy Anderson Method), has changed my brain. I have been at it for three months, and am so impressed that I actually have discipline afterall. I did not know I could follow through on something hard. I look forward to the next day’s workout almost immediately after!
