Additional Posts in Salary Negotiations
Im not searching for a new job but an acquaintance reached out about a similar role at a similar energy company.Turns out 2 ppl threw my name in the hat. I looked into it and the position was posted 2 weeks ago.Their director wants to meet.I bet pay is one of the first things to be discussed so that no one’s time is wasted.Am I crazy for not wanting to entertain it for less than 20-25% base pay increase? Is it selfish to ask for more? I’m sure most salary conversations end in negotiation anyways?

I try to go in with optimism, but receipts. I ask for what I want and then justify it based on the work I've done, the metrics I've hit, my attendance record and ways I've gone above and beyond… You may need to justify your raise, so come prepared.
Yes I think I need to get proof in order before I go for the chat.
If you're going to ask for a raise, make it about yourself and about your progress in the job. Have some facts handy to show how you've grown in the job and you're a more valuable employee than you were a year or two ago. Too many people make a case that's not about them, they argue about cost of living or what someone else is making. That's usually an ineffective strategy. Stand on your own accomplishments and how you've grown in the position.
Okay cool, I’ll try this in my next meeting and see if I can make it work thank you!

I would focus on a clear ask and justification for why you deserve it given your past performance
Cheers, I think I need to get my reasons in order.
