"Teach students, not subjects." I got that from my mentor when I was relatively new to the profession. I never let those words go. Instead of just throwing information at my students, I focus on understanding their individual needs, passions, and learning styles. This way, I can tailor my approach to make the material more relatable and engaging. It really does make a big difference in fostering a productive and happy learning atmosphere.
Create the spaces to learn the way you wish you had when you were learning. I always try and foster environments that I wish I had when I was figuring out subject that didn't really click with me as a student.
