It has been a lot of years since this happened, but I once witnessed a staff lose his job for getting up late and not shaving that day. That was back in the days when no facial hair was allowed unless it was fully grown out and well maintained.

EY4 it’s not our fault you can’t grow a nice beard

An office employee installed a screen saver on his computer that showed images of famous artworks. This was back around 1999-2000 when you were still allowed to do things like that to your work computer. Security was patrolling the office and saw some of this artwork which included naked subjects. These artworks are nothing you wouldn't see in an art history class at a respectable university or on a book on a coffee table in the home of a respectable person. Company cited a zero tolerance policy towards "pornographic" images because the subjects of world famous historical artworks are sometimes naked. The dude fired didn't pick the artworks in the screensaver. Also, he is a hetero guy and the pictures photographed by security were naked men, so no way the display was intended to be gratuitous. WTF Motorola.

I was fired once for going to my mother's funeral. I had given 4 days notice that her funeral was on Saturday. The GM said I couldn't miss work for my mother's funeral. I told him I wasnt going to miss my mothers funeral and went anyway. I was fired the same day.

Any employer who expects someone to work instead of attend his mother’s funeral is an absolutely horrid person

How about the opposite? NOT fired but should have been. A former coworker would scream profanities, pound his desk, & slam his keyboard when he got upset over something. Our CEO would literally come out of his office and go down to his and tell him he can't act like that. He did it several times that I witnessed. Unreal. This guy's boss was in a different state, so he never saw it. Our CEO told the boss how he would behave. They gave him a talking to, but he still did it.

Three separate businesses under the same corporate umbrella. Answered "no" to the question "do you have friends or family members working for this company?". On day 1, HR found out her sister worked for one of the other companies and fired her for lying on the application.

That is crazy, I saw a coworker NOT get fired after having forgotten to file tax reports and costing the company penalty fees. It happened more than 3 times....

Domestic violence against a spouse then having his sister call out for him while he was in jail.

Sounds like a great guy.

Too naughty to say. But DM for the scoop.

Stealing towels and other things from the hotel room!

A frustrated accountant threw a hard-wired desk phone across the room.

The former owners of a small company I worked for were selling fill dirt from a large mound on the back of one of our locations after a site improvement. Even when checks were made out to the company instead of them (most were done to the latter), they would use their relationships at the bank to get them deposited in their personal account.

Our financial analyst used to go to the gym during work hours and would join team calls mid-workout. She’s a fitness trainer now, so it worked out for her and honestly, for us too.

Someone who had completed and passed all the exams for their accountancy qualification (AAT) , last step was to complete and hand in a project.

Failed to do this, but carried on with the firm and started study for the next qualification (ACA) as if he had qualified .
Got pulled out during study, questioned about what happened to the project. Lied and says it must have 'got lost'. Firm made him open up and go through his emails which proved he hadn't sent the project.

Fired on the spot. No job, no qualification.

Good morning everyone! I am currently working as an Occupational Therapist at a Level 1 center but am looking to pivot into the clinical research field. Can anyone give any insight into transitioning from bedside to clinic research? Everytime I look online there seems to be certificate programs that may or may not be a scam/waste of money. Would appreciate any thoughts, insight, personal experience, referral., etc.!

Thank you!

I have an estranged relationship with my sister. I haven’t had a relationship with her in 13+ years, and haven’t even seen her in about 5 years. We had a really bad falling out and I never really carried for her as a person. But for some reason I feel an immense guilt for not wanting a relationship, simply because of this convoluted idea of family and sticking together no matter what. Anyone else have this issue? How do I go about making peace with someone I don’t want nothing to do with?

Hello fam! Hope you’ll are enjoying your Sunday!

I faked my resume I mean my contracting firm did and I didn’t have choice and I got the job. Now my client wants to offer me a full time position. I kind of feel like they trust me with the work I’m doing and also considering my past experiences to offer me a full time and moreover it’s only been 3 months.

I know it’s a little unusual but what do you guys think/suggest me to do in this situation?!
