In general - When companies start to enter “best workplace culture” or “best in-house marketing team” or “best company instagram page” - awards - you know this internal naval gazing is covering up a lack of decent new wins or decent work with their main clients. Another sign things aren’t great is when the awards are mostly made up stuff for charities you didn’t they worked for or for partnerships that originated elsewhere.
