Feeling burnt out and unmotivated with agency life. Throughout the past year I’ve been added to a variety of “problem accounts” with challenging, disorganized and rude client contacts. Since then, it feels my teams have dwindled and I’ve been left to pick up the pieces / manage it all. I’m struggling to feel inspired and am starting to dread my work. Situation: got an offer from firm X; highly likely to get a better offer from firm Y but official offer would take a couple of more weeks in best case scenario. However, firm X’s offer validity about to run out. Would you: (1) accept X’s offer now but rescind later if Y converts (2) ask X for additional time to decide (they’re “prestigious” and may not offer additional time...) (3) Play straight, decline X and hope Y converts (4) any other creative ideas ...???

Need advice. Currently at $142k base. 3 years and 1 month left before I max out of H1b. Just got my PWD issued through current employer though their immediate reaction is subtly letting me know they’re not in a hurry to start recruitment. Got an offer today for $160k base. Similar role, both are good teams, etc. Do I politely decline and see my GC process through or accept and get more money? Feel like current employer will drag their feet as long as they can for retention purposes.

Why are people now treating e-mail as instant messaging? I work with several people that for some reason expect all emails to be answered within minutes of being received…. Anyone get frustrated when others have poor mic set ups in calls? It’s hard enough to get everything I need out of meetings when no one will put their camera on but it also have each person that speaks also to have they voice distorted in a different way just grinds my gears. Take some pride in your work. If you want to work from home, invest in a good microphone.
