The competent lawyers don’t
The only people I see do this are young attorneys or attorneys in PI or criminal defense. Makes no sense to me. Fine to post a good result on your website bio or LinkedIn, but no reason to broadcast a trial before you know the result.
I can’t even imagine who would be interested in even reading that nonsense. Do people even engage with those posts?
For the clot.
If the content is not unethical or against court or other rules, I don’t see the problem with this. Trials are public, juries are instructed to not watch media about the trial, and there already is a tradition of issuing press releases regarding ongoing trials. I see press speak with lawyers outside the courthouse every day.
It needs to be done carefully, but at least you can control the content if you put it on your own social media and not have to rely on press to convey the messages.
Sounds like he needs some humble pie. As they say in sports act like you’ve been there before.
Trials are generally open to the public, so technically probably nothing wrong with it
In trial? Day by day? Who has the time? I am in final preparation of witnesses who are nervous, honing my strategy, adding notes to my closing arguments, reviewing the rules to preserve error . . . seriously?
