It’s difficult. Because you see the quarter coming to an end and your numbers aren’t matching expectations. Even though your numbers are probably better than your coworkers they’re still not what your manager expecting to see from you. It’s a different kind of feeling.

I almost think of it as the opposite. When you consistently perform at a high level, you get a bit of a buffer between yourself and failure. If you mess up, people assume that it was a genuine accident and not just a reflection of your character or something you "always" do. Maybe changing your perspective a little bit can help?
