Writer reads the script AD gets into brace position for the complaints on the visuals they chose because they’re taken too literally.
OMG SO TRUE like what happened to references and them being just… well references?! Now they want to see the exact image
I, as the writer, usually present scripts as I'll know the intonation of any VO and/or the pace to read the action lines.
If there's more than one script, I'll ask my partner if they want to present any of them. If they do, I let them.
I present the entire script but have the AD set up the look and feel of the spot before I jump in.
I was taught that the AD reads the scene description/action lines. Copywriter reads the dialogue.

If there are lots of scripts a lot of times teams will take turns alternating between scripts.
If you’re a solid team you both should know the idea and scripts well enough to both present it. Yes, sometimes one person is either a better presenter or may know ow to describe a scene a bit better, and that’s when you can alternate. Also, as an AD I would really work on writing more so you have influence on making the scripts betta so by the time you present it’s hard to tell who did what and it’s both of your ideas. ADs who can write, design, visualize, pick audio, and present are a rarity but so much more valuable. Don’t fall into the silo of just being responsible for the visuals. Make yourself invaluable by developing the idea from all angles.
Whatever best serves the idea. So many variations in play. But to make rules around this stuff is kinda unproductive.
