I send them a $6 e-giftcard to Starbucks.
They don’t want to be flattered (generally unless they’re just true narcissists). They want to know that you know what they’re doing and where they’re going and want to be a part of it. Also don’t send an email. Everyone does that. Do your job and promote yourself instead of a product. Figure out what will stand out and figure out what your POD is and showcase that. What’s the RTB? Where are their eyes when they would care about receiving this info? Know where they’re miserable (email!) and where they’re calm and relaxed. Why not send a real note with a little something they would use that’s related to your POD? Most you should spend on that is like $5. Point is, do your job but you’re the client. Good luck!
Just shoot your shot. Think what will make you standout. Flattery and boasting is what everyone else is already doing.
FWIW, I’ve literally never gotten anywhere by contacting agency CDs/CCOs/etc. and I have tried plenty… Every interview I’ve ever gotten was through a recruiter first. Might be better to focus more of your energy there 🤷♂️
