I am a graduating student who just got offered 65k for a solution analyst role at Deloitte USDC (Data Engineering Focus). From reading previous posts it seems to be a lot of negative thoughts surrounding the USDC, but straight out of college is this a good opportunity?
I'm looking to gain as much experience as possible out of college in an IT role and wondering what exit opportunities may be in place a year or two down the road if there is little/slow progression.

Lol don't be weak.
Block time on your calendar and stick to it.

Yesterday. Work will take your time if you let it. Don't be a martyr. Recommend the following:
1) calendar blocks around lunch time
2) using the word "no"
3) using the phrase "yes I'll get right on that soon as I grab a quick lunch"
4) using the phrase "sure I can call you but give me 20-30 mins to eat a quick lunch"
5) using the "propose new time" feature in outlook
6) using the "decline" or "tentative" meeting response options for lunchtime meetings where you aren't a critical attendee
7) learning when you're a critical attendee (see 6)
8) when you're coordinating the meeting in advance, not scheduling it for lunch time
9) being a little bit flexible on when you eat lunch. I haven't eaten lunch at my desk since WFH started... sometimes I have to eat a bit early, sometimes it ends up being 2/3pm, but I always take a break for lunch
10) if you're eating lunch and get an unscheduled call, ignoring it and calling the person back soon as you're done, explaining "sorry I was eating lunch"
I have never once even come close to anyone taking issue with any of those responses. If anyone really gives you a hard time for eating lunch, they need to look in the mirror.
And you, if you somehow think that because you see all of the 16 hours/day, 7 days/week tryhards on this app bragging about never getting up from their desk except to sleep on occasion, that skipping lunch is an expectation / rule... then you need to also hit reset and remember that we too are human, and that you need to take care of yourself.
Yesterday. I don’t work through lunch. Don’t get paid enough for that

Today. 2021 is the start of new things. I refuse to work between 12-1 to eat and get things done around the house. Unless it’s an absolutely emergency, see you at 1pm.
Yes. I've had boundaries for lunch ever since I was a staff. They'll always take your time away if you let them
Everyday.
Weekends only at this point. Can't remember prior to WFH when the last weekday was.

Do weekends count?
I ate lunch during work last weekend. 😊

I block my calendar - I have to prep lunch not just for myself but also for 2 kids who are learning from home due to Covid.
Are y'all hiring ?!

Today.
I'm very strict about time boxing stuff on my calendar. I block out time for email, for getting stuff done, and lunch. Those time blocks are sacrosanct, and while I'll move them around a bit if needed, I don't get rid of them under any circumstances. When I was still in consulting, I'd flat out tell leadership or clients that I was booked during X time and I'd need to reschedule.
In industry, same thing, though there's less schedule shifting than there was in consulting. For example, I've got a block at 11 for lunch every day and I can only think of maybe once or twice in the past year that I had to change my lunch time, and that was just to push it back to like 11:30.
Everyday - on bench tho
Right now
Every day!
Every day. I no longer allow people to take my lunch away unless they cater lunch to me. When a consultant tried to host a 6hr working session without lunch breaks or catering, I had a lengthy conversation on why that’s so inappropriate and unmindful. He ended up crying. “Just because your company allows this doesn’t mean you can impose it here. I don’t know who you think you are to make my team go through this.”

When I was in college. Preparing and eating lunch with the kids is part of my second job so I would consider this a working lunch

I find eating at the desk gross. I step away for 10 minutes to shovel food then come back. Eating doesn't take an hour if it's all you're doing.
I've started just going offline for half an hour for lunch. Unless it's an emergency, there's nothing that can't wait half an hour in the afternoon.
You have to draw boundaries somewhere.
Personally, I’d rather work through it and get off a little earlier, but that’s just me. I typically heat up leftovers or make something that takes <10 mins.
