Where are all my tutors hiding?? I am in need of another side hustle so I think I am going to start tutoring nights and weekends. (I know not the best way for work/life balance) Can you share what you charge, your state, and your grade/topic??

I don’t tutor anymore, but I charged $50 an hour. I never had to hunt for students. If I wanted to tutor, word of mouth or just parents approaching me to let them know if I had an “opening” keep me busy when I wanted to tutor. I taught ELA ( specifically Reading skills, vocab, comprehension, and literary elements.) I would only accept cash. No less than one hour per session. If they canceled 24 hours prior to a tutoring session there was no charge, less than 24 hours they owed me $35.

Also when I tutored, Venmo wasn’t used as much as it does today and parents didn’t have that app.

I tutor 3 students separately, 2 in fourth and 1 in fifth. I typically tutor in reading and/or math. I charge $50 an hour. I always look at their past and current data on any standardized assessments as well as speak with their current teacher.

Folks making more than £100K: How do you deal with the 60% effective tax rate on the 100-125K bracket? (HMRC gradually reduces your £12,750 personal tax-free allowance to £0.)

This is the first time it is happening to me. With one month to go until the end of the tax year, I'm thinking of making a one-off extra pension contribution next payroll.

Any other effective strategies with only one month to go?

I have many options to consider but two options below are what I’m thinking of right now.

I want to see your thoughts on which one I should pick.

Job A: Project Engineer. 135K/yr base. 10% signing bonus.

Job B: Senior Project Manager. Contract. $60/hr standard. $90/hr overtime.
