I wish people understood that not every aspect of a relationship needs to be a democracy. Sometimes, the relationship is a Caribbean Island and you are its dictator. You don't have to compromise on every single issue and not every compromise is going to be 50/50. Ideally, you perfectly align half of the time, 40% of the time you compromise, and 10% of the time it's a unilateral decision.

For instance, because of my career, where we live is a unilateral decision on my end for whoever I date.

LinkedIn is a garbage app where I can’t even post my opinion or experience because it will go against the mainstream ideologies. If I even “like” a post then I worry that my peers and managers see what I like and suddenly I need inclusivity training. What a load of shit! You can’t be who you truly are on that app. Which is why I like fishbowl so much, the anonymity is a game changer. If LinkedIn was a anonymous, we’d see a lot more support for Kanye and a lot less LGBQT material. Bet!

I fly back to my conservative small town and pretend I’m straight for my parents (and extended family) because I don’t want to disappoint them or cause them any pain. I love them and I love my bf, and I want to keep both aspects of my life as they are today. My bf wants to meet my parents but I really don’t want to bring that drama into my life

I’m a guy and sometimes I sit when I pee so that I make less of a mess and have to clean my bathroom less frequently. On the same note, I usually shit standing up which tends to be much messier

Something has been bothering me for a long time and I want to get it off my chest.

My firm does upward feedback and I asked about 10 of my team to participate so that I could be a better supervisor for them. My results: I got mostly great feedback with constructive points, however along with it I received the meanest, most cold hearted criticism I’ve ever seen (con’t in comments).

I was giving my kid the advice that the path you sometimes believe you are on is not necessarily where you will land, in a good way, and to stay open to those paths.

I grew up poor and was obsessed w financial security. After investing my blood, sweat and tears into my career for years, I’ve decided I don’t care about my career or earnings as long as I have enough to support my family. We are happier than ever making less and saving little. I wasn’t there when my mom was sick and died because I was working and my employer didn’t allow me to be in a mental headspace to be a good person for my family. I can never change that but I can be better going forward.
