Some of the white generational wealth I've seen as a financial advisor is actually scary. It's laughable that we expect people without that privilege to ever achieve success in the same ways and to the same degree. Chances are even if you do, you'll have had to work harder in your life than they ever have. Lowkey kind of makes me sick to my stomach.

Just had a hearing on my motion to compel where OC told the judge we hadn’t conferred before filing the motion. Not only did I attempt to confer on 3 separate dates, I attached the emails and his response that he refused to confer to my motion. Judge didn’t care, as soon as she heard him say we hadn’t conferred she denied the motion. Not asking a question, just needed to vent.

I’m so bad at writing the background/ facts section for briefs… it always gets heavily edited and no one is giving me constructive feedback other than “advocate more”. I’ve practiced litigation in DC for about 5+ years at a larger plaintiffs’ firm, and am considering a switch to a defense firm.
