President Bra... Biden
Good man. Knows how to walk up stairs, take directions from an easter bunny, and pick a WINNER of a VP

Donald J Trump
Black unemployment at lowest ever (best prez for the AAs since Lincoln), 401ks were very high and everyone was very happy. Melania also easy on eyes.

Lincoln was just overcompensating so people wouldn't figure out his dad was black😂

Biden is even worse. You forgot Carter

The BJ aside, didn’t Clinton have a pretty strong presidency?
Edit: and I’m looking at “modern” like the last 30 or so years.
Yes, except for:
- financial deregulation, exempting credit default swaps from regulation, leading to the 2008 crisis. The effort to improve lending to low income neighborhoods was positive intent but involved more risk.
- the 1994 crime bill didn’t relieve mass incarceration, and has admitted it made the problem worse.
- he signed the defense of marriage act, but it was veto-proof
- he championed lower CEO pay with the disastrous outcome of higher delayed comp in the form of stocks, accelerating the pay disparity instead of slowing it.

Lol, I shared an objective poll of historians. But it challenged your preconceptions so you peaced out. Nice.😂

Ahhh, you don’t need to be his fluffer, you already get a paycheck from EY!
Define modern history. Last 50yrs? 100?
OW1 totally agree.
If you overlook the self dealing and self enrichment and general corruption then Lyndon B Johnson was a pretty effective executive. Come on, I bet you thought I was going to say Trump with that caveat 😄.
But also, he had super majorities.
Civil rights, voting rights, fair housing act, Medicare, Medicaid, etc…he had his flaws but pushed for policies I can appreciate.
Best President since 1900 was Coolidge. Worst was Wilson.
When Wilson was inaugurated, blacks were in the arm forces and held positions in the Federal Government. He rolled that back.
I say Clinton, Reagan or Nixon (foreign policy for Nixon)

I disagree, A1. If the hysteria over CRT is any indication, soon remembering Rs of any period unkindly will be illegal.
But yeah, I’m sure government overreach is going to disappear any minute now.

In the last 100 years: FDR - Led the US through the Great Depression & WWII. Played a major part in forming the UN.
My personal fav: Eisenhower
FDR’s policies extended both the depression and the war. He is closer to the worst than the best. He was also largely anti-Semitic as was most of his cabinet. I would rank Truman well ahead of FDR. Eisenhower as well.
Interesting to read more on Grant. His was a very much under appreciated presidency.

JFK
I can rally behind this
Looking over the last 50, it’s hard to say any we’re really “good”. A 4yr term isn’t enough to make a lasting impact and too many politicians are focused on 2-4yrs. That prevents the long term good, or results in half-assed measures, like the ACA. I think perhaps we’d be better off with a 6yr 1-term limit presidency. We need something to force long term thinking, rather than career survival.
I like 2 term 4 year because it forces presidents to live up to campaign promises if they want to run again
Roosevelt, Roosevelt, Johnson.
But these were all before the major media revolution of the 80's and 90's when news became a 24 hour phenomena.
I like this question, but we should try to examine this in history with attention to how they were scrutinized just as much as how they were praised.
So "modern" history should be examined by an index of media markets to make it more apples to apples.
