Why are resignation letters necessary? I never know what to put in these things. Why can't we just get to the point and skip the "thanks for the opportunity" crap? I want to be able to shoot my manager an email saying when my last day is and that's it. Some of these corporate norms are just performative and a waste of time.

I would like to work as a dev but a lot of the small companies are offering salaries significantly under 100 for jr dev roles. Any thoughts?
