They are absolutely in a hurry to go public but wont leave money on the table by doing so in a bad market

Because becoming a public company is a PITA
Why not have a higher chance at being more profitable?
Going public doesn’t necessarily make a company more profitable. If anything they may be less profitable because they take on huge new expenses to go public.
They may not have a plan yet to increase profit via expansion. They seem saturated in the US, maybe penetrating abroad has regulatory barriers or other market drivers at play?
Not sure about stripe, but generally going public is extremely expensive and they may not want to/aren’t ready to disclose everything.
