SM on my project stepped away on paternity leave. SM was the one who led partner discussions and most of the client meetings. We're a week from a client deadline.

As a manager, I'm stepping but incredibly stress with the amount of moving parts. I don't have a strong rapport with the partner (Neither did the SM) to be open and transparent on how stressful I'm feeling without downgrading myself.

I'm sick to the stomach and very anxious, stressed at the suddenness of the thrust.

Does the addition of “(level) II” make a difference to anybody? I am the only marketing communications specialist for a lead child-welfare nonprofit. We oversee four counties in two circuits. Director recently gave me add’l merit-based raise (after my annual raise, been here 14 months) & slight title change to Marketing Comm Specialist II. No plans to add a level 1 (would be lower) specialist but will add level 1 engagement specialist to team. Should I update resume/cards or is this confusing?

How much stock do you put on benefits? I have two offers with stark differences in benefits. Job 1: role I want, but benefit sucks (2 weeks paternity leave, 20% coinsurance). Job 2: role is okay but higher level and great benefits (16 weeks paternity, 0% coinsurance, 5 more days of vacation). Total comp is the same though. I wonder if I should just focus on role but Job 2 is a large company, so I can move around after 2-3 years I’d expect. Thoughts?

Tomorrow they are requiring masks again and I was almost in tears when I found out. We have been mask free (recommended) since June and I feel like we are being muzzled again. I’m a special education parent attorney at a small firm and I’ve spent my legal career in the education and juvenile areas of the law working for 2 non-profits before ending up at the firm.
