Why does every finance job have the same title but wildly different expectations? I’ve seen Financial Analyst mean anything from hardcore modeling and business partnering to manually entering vendor invoices and updating templates. The job descriptions are all copy-paste and buzzwords and none of them give a clear picture of the actual day-to-day. How are you supposed to compare roles or negotiate when the scope is so vague? Anyone have tips for decoding job listings before you get too far into the process?
