You’ve said it yourself: Because they pay.
It’s generally bad business to upset your paying customers.
A paid Glassdoor account means they’re paying for a branded profile. It doesn’t affect your ability to leave a review. If Glassdoor isn’t approving your review, that typically means the review violated one of their terms of conditions.
I’ve been managing my agency’s paid Glassdoor account for multiple years and I have never been able to get a review removed except for a couple of instances where the person clearly reviewed the wrong company. Even then, Glassdoor won’t remove them half the time. It’s not as easy as one might think.
If your review isn’t getting posted, that means you violated Glassdoor policy and they didn’t approve it. The company doesn’t see reviews until after they’re posted. We don’t get to pick and choose which ones we want shown.
