So I just started a new job in sales (B2B specifically). All my life I’ve been in blue collar jobs, military, then construction work ect. I don’t have much money saved to get myself my own business cards as I’m sure they are important to have, I’ve got all the info that I need to go out and start selling. I guess what I’m looking for is just tips on how you guys were successful walking into a whole new arena if that makes sense?

What makes you stay in public accounting? I like my boss and the teams I am on, but the hours are hard and i think I should look into private sometimes.

Which would you rather? Internal at MBB or client-facing at Big 4/ACN?

Should I stay at a company I know I like culture-wise when my manager said they will try to promote me, but with no guarantee. Or should I take a job offer I was given with a nice raise, but is in consulting at Slalom. I have not worked in consulting before. There is no travel with Slalom, but the idea of being the new person all the time isn’t too appealing. Less pay and known culture, or more pay unknown job satisfaction?

Senior engineer making 135k and I was offered a promotion to engineering manager after completing a development plan. Near the end of the plan and I expect compensation talks to start soon. What/ who is that in the bowl logo? Is that our official logo? Is he praying or about to kick someone's butt? If I grow a beard like that...client acceptable?

Is strat and transactions now part of Parthenon or is it still in advisory?

What does legacy OTS do exactly? What are the different areas within and what does the work look like?

I'm about to join EY GDS SAT team as SBA - Strategy. Not from a big 4 background but from business research background.
