Idk people feel this way. I tell every candidate they need to recruit at every firm. eyp is a solid place if its where they end up but they need to shoot their shot with mbb and other strategy shops also.
just be transparent and you'll have a free conscious. talk about salary, work experience, exit opportunities and let them chose..
like someone else said, mbb can't hire every great candidate
Uh..new hires come in at 170K base with 30 bonus, that's more than Mk at 165K base....sooo where is this coming from?
Not everyone gets an offer from MBB. I've talked to incredibly high level candidates that I was sure would get an offer and they didn't. MBA recruiting is such that we provide candidates the insights they need to make the best decisions for them. If you're telling people it's a better place than MBB then that's a different issue
There are other aspects to a job outside of hours...
Be honest about your experiences and leave the rest up to the candidates. Everyone has different priorities, and it’s up to them to make their own decisions.
Consider if recruiting is the right fit for you as an extracurricular activity, if you haven’t had a great experience here. There are other things you can be doing with your time.
I just feel bad telling them about our culture and projects when both those things suck
To be fair I think overall culture is good but the leadership in my group is bad
