I’m in a rather peculiar situation. I have been in the HR field going on 4 years, I have over 11 years of management experience, I got my PHR last year and I recently graduated with my MBA with a concentration in HR this month. I am ready for a more challenging role. However, there doesn’t seem to be much available at my current company. However, I am going on 5 months pregnant with the expectation of being out in October. I feel like once I mentioned my pregnancy I was in a holding pattern.

I might try to get pregnant next year. I’d like to get some genetic testing done beforehand to see if baby will be prone to certain conditions/illnesses. I am not aware of anything wrong with my or my husband’s family history but it will give me peace of mind.
Which one do you recommend? My insurance plan sucks, so something that has a decent price with no insurance would be great. Thanks.

A colleague of mine is struggling with a student who screams, cries, and throws fits when it is time to complete tasks. They have created behavior charts with something fun to work towards: it doesn’t work. They have called the parent and they just cry and say that they experience the same issue and they don’t know how to fix it. They have reached out to guidance and all they can say is “sorry, the child isn’t hurting themselves or others. It’s frustrating and I can’t help you.”

In my third trimester (8 weeks left) and feeling so overwhelmed by impending motherhood. I’m trying to absorb as much information as possible, have taken a birth class, Tinyhood classes, read articles and parts of parenting books etc and still feel utterly unprepared. I took a 3 mo. maternity leave this year. My firm calculates bonuses based on the amount of collectibles over the course of the calendar year with a minimum collectibles amount in order to qualify for a bonus. How have you women dealt with this? Obviously it’s difficult for me to meet my collectibles requirement for a year when I only will have worked for 9 months. Working moms, why are we not accommodated FULLY for nursing breaks? My last employer allowed break accommodations for me to nurse my child, but my current employer does not. They state that they do not offer break accommodations for nursing moms bc federal law only says that we are allowed to have an extra unpaid break for nursing. I’m conflicted because I can stay organized when I track my daily routine (been using my daily planner consistently for 2 months yay) and I’m able to focus using Pomodoro technique.
