I would like clarity if first class was involved or not. If someone (regardless of race) is trying to move to a different class, that is not ok. Still doesn’t call for being removed from the flight, though. If they singled him out for being black and would have allowed a white man to do it (or would not have removed a white man from the plane), that is racism, yes. If you’re trying to move to another seat in your class, that’s not a problem, I have done it many times, but never to first class.
I will fly on American and enjoy my non-packed airplane ✌️
You had a non-packed plane in a recent AA flight? Mine were sold out!
Lol this is bs. Sit in your assigned/bought seat. Simple as that
Wow! Now that's racist! Lets cancel KPMG3, everyone!

Cancel culture will be the end of America. Did you read the article?.

Regardless, AA and United both suck.

I’m sure you’re gonna still flying AA
And if you won’t, I’ll be glad to have fewer ignorant passengers

So he wanted to move to a first class seat without paying for it? Doesn’t matter what race or gender you are, “Karens” come in all shapes and sizes

Everyone, please just read the article before jumping to conclusions.

Just responded in a different thread. Firstly, other passengers dispute AA’s version of events. Secondly, there were other offenders who upgraded their seats on an empty flight. AA chose to single out the black man. Why?
If AA was going to enforce its policy, they should have enforced it universally. And kicking someone off the plane for it? Seriously? Did they try just telling the customers they can’t change seats? Doesn’t seem like it.
Here’s a firsthand video view of what went down.

I'm not giving American the benefit of the doubt - seen white privilege in action too many times.

For everyone on this thread that only took AA’s side of the story, here’s the other side:

How American of American to discriminate based on race..?
Under-rated comment.
The recording is an important part of the story. Watch it if you haven’t.
The passenger in question looks to be in coach. I don’t see first class anywhere. I was going to given AA the benefit of the doubt but that video is clear...AA’s version of the story doesn’t add up.

Never did, never will. Regardless of this incident.

I try to avoid American anyway
You can’t even use the bathroom in first class.
Op - you flying United or Delta?
