More than enough to start, doubt you need an advisor for just that much

like

30k is enough to start investing but not enough to pay a financial advisor. Most won't go near you til you have at least 100k, and you really won't get their attention with less than a mil

$250k in AMZN? Judging by your original question, that seems like an extremely large concentration. I’d diversify, but we all have different risk appetites

You can just find an hourly or flat fee person rather than an asset based advisor. Could also do something like Vanguard PIA although I'm not sure if they have a minimum

Betterment has a flat fee option if you want to pay for an hour of counseling

Is it true that some* debt is good debt. I’m referring to student loans, interest is ranging from 2% - 5% (all federal loans). Total is 20k, is it smarter to pay it off immediately and ASAP or just stretch and put the extra money into investing? Note I just graduated this year, thank you guys :)

So what are other ways in addition to those mentioned is there to help secure you into old age?

At my uncles wedding in Madrid I remember lying down on the grass in the courtyard after their first dance and crying, my Dad came and saw me, laid down in his suit beside me and asked what was wrong.

“I know my boyfriend wouldn’t dance with me like that at our wedding”

And we just lay there as I cried, and then got up. Had a drink.

Said boyfriend left years ago, and now I have a wonderful man who just asked me what type of dance lessons I want for our wedding next year.

Don’t give up.

I am a 2nd year associate at a plaintiff’s firm specializing in toxic tort cases (individual). I’ve had the opportunity to be third chair on a trial, and will likely be second chair in an upcoming trial. However, given the track record of the firm and the amount of money at stake in each case, I am afraid I won’t get any first chair experience, if any, for at least another 5-7 years. I am considering staying at the firm but trying to get trial experience through side Pro Bono work. Thoughts?

I know the fed says 8.6%, but that number is averaged over many products normal people don’t frequently interact with.

I’d rough estimate something closer to 25% cost of living inflation over the last year for myself.

I just hit my lean fire number but am hesitating to pull the trigger, so was hoping to run it by people smarter than me:

- I have a few rentals that bring in ~$1800/mo cash flow, taxes are negligible, Capex incl.
- My paper assets will bring in ~$1200/mo at 3% draw
- I get free Healthcare at the VA
- No plans on kids
- My expenses haven't topped $30k/yr ever
- I could always reenter the workforce if needed (albeit probably not in consulting)

Please point out the flaws here, what am I missing?
