I enjoy some things about working in retail during the holiday season. It's such a switch from the usual routine that it's fun to get into it. As for the customers, you have some who are fun to deal with and have the holiday spirit, and then there are those who just turn into monsters. It's always weird to see how Christmas shopping can make some people so nasty. All you can do is roll your eyes.

“Roll your eyes" could work in these situations 😃. You are right about people turning into monsters while other enjoy the spirit. But the good thing is it does not stay for so long.
I worked as a cashier for many years and I mostly don't miss it, but I actually miss the holidays a little bit. The music, seeing everybody come in and celebrate with their families, having fun festive chatter. Those are the things I actually miss.

I always loved people getting dressed up for the holidays and do their shopping. I miss those things too now.
I don’t mind working the holidays.. I actually really love working the holidays. It’s more money and time spent with loved ones. Plus the discounts they have for us.
I like how fast the shifts go by during the holiday season. I don’t necessarily like dealing with the customers. But I will usually pick up extra shifts around this time, which is helpful. So I guess it has it ups and downs.
