Working for a small RIA on 1099. I receive about 80% payout AUM and the firm covers port mgmt, marketing, and a client service rep. However no other benefits such as office, health, 401k, bonus. Stay?

I own my own business, 90% from my BD. I pay utilities, mortgage, marketing and about $12000 in software costs... I'd be happy with 80% and no office costs if I were you

I am ria and I can say that is a great structure and like mentioned above you will give up a lot of freedom to gain the perks you are looking for. I would look into some insurance firms that you can write under; I heard through grape vines some can offer what you are looking for without leaving your current firm and losing independence. Wish you the best my friend.

like

Why leave? "The grass is always greener" is a trap. Only move if there are strong push factors.. like are you unhappy? For the other things you mentioned you'll likely need to give up freedom. Is it worth it to you? Can you take orders from a boss? Only you can answer those things.

Happy to review this with you. I’m at an 85% payout and have all the other benefits you’re mentioning. What state do you live in?

like

What’s your production? Office costs in your area? 70-80% after expenses is pretty normal. Also indie BDs charge admin on advisory that’s substantial- it’s like 10-15 bps

FA2, is there a good number to reach you?

Just to avoid any potential issue with giving my number out on FishBowl, do you have an email (personal) that I can shoot you a message to?

Thx Pres1, good insight. I’m really just trying to gauge how my situation of pay/benefits compare to other folks in a similar situation

Good evening all,
With my partner we are considering making a move to the countryside of Switzerland, with a gorgeous RE project offering incredible views on immaculate mountains and lake. However, it is far away, and will require 1h+ train/car commute vs. 10 min biking right now. We are scared it will bite us back at some point, although COVID helped w/ remote working being a new norm. The project will be done 2024, so I hope to have a more relax job by then. Any similar experience to share?

Hi All

Looking to purchase a 2019 Genesis G70 for 35k. Applied for Auto finance and got it approved from DCU at 4.5%.

I know the rates have increased recently but I think this is still high.

Any suggestions where I could get better rates with a good credit score and history?

Does anyone have ideas on how to navigate a smaller team environment when everyone’s roles seem to be stretched (hiring for additional people has been taking a while, not sure why). The stress causes some tension and that’s probably not great for the overall morale of the company long-term. I try to ignore and just stay focused on what I need to do yet sometimes proves challenging. I worry it might affect my professional/career growth. Thoughts on this would be helpful, thanks!
