Everyone’s worst boss is usually someone else’s best boss.

Gary Vee.
I’ve never worked for him. I just feel like he’d be the worst and most insufferable boss there is.

Yes I know some pretty good creatives at Vayner who all really like him as a boss. I never heard anything negative. Trashing someone just because you don’t like their social media presence is very toxic. The strange thing is, people who do that are 9 times out of 10 the ones who complain about a toxic industry lol. A less toxic industry starts with yourself.
Oh man I just left because them.
I’m about to. It’s infuriating
Buddy Holly hipster glasses. Was a former visual graphic designer who Peter Principled his way up to CD. Worst creative director I ever worked for. On the bright side, he showed me what NOT to do once I became a creative director myself.

3 of them. One, the industry ignorantly champions. That is all.
Gotta be Anselmo haha
Not a boss but a CEO. He ran the company into the ground after 5 years of reduced margins and framed a fire sale to 300 people as a VC investment.
He quit 6 months later and the company was broken apart.
Founder of a branding firm, sold out to a holding company and then was shocked (shocked!) when they took over and he lost control. Invested in faux feminist underwear brand and janky hotels. Left his weed pipe on his desk for client calls, showed up high to meetings (and not in a funny way), believed he was pro women but only handed out 70 hour work weeks to them. Decided middle management impeded his micromanaging, regularly fired them, so no creatives ever got mentored or managed so they could could upwards.
He was a real prince, I tell ya.

I don’t need a boss to be a friend or a life coach, just someone who leads me to great work. I’m curious to hear what you consider a bad boss.
A bad boss is subjective—to me it’s someone who can’t guide the work, disrespects his or her teams time, is inefficient or egotistical (unsupported by the work to back up an ego) and has petty motivations.
