My dad's a senior software architect getting 35 lpa for 18 years work experience in cognizant. His tech stack is AEM and he has worked on angular and Java Projects as well. Since he is getting underpaid a lot ... Hopefully someone can refer him Adobe or some product companies. Even service company with good pay also is acceptable

Go to the startup. Seems like your comp isn’t going to be dramatically impacted, you’ll learn a ton and the upside is higher. If it doesn’t work out, we will welcome you back to consulting.
Yes I would. What's your total YOE? What is tier 2 on the west coast ? 🤔
Not Bay area, not CA... Real city
10 total YoE, 3+ in consulting. M2.
Less travel with new opp but still likely 25-50%. New bennies are worse but I won't use medical or dental as spouse benefits are much much better than D or start-up's.
Customer success and enterprise account growth. Client/customer facing.
100k options are worthless unless company goes public and does well
Or gets bought, but yes agree and am very heavily discounting to near zero in my decision making process
How likely is the cash bonus to be paid out at the new place? 401k matching?
I would lean towards the new gig as you can always come back, but compare that to the impact of staying in consulting. I switched and went boutique and took a hit on 401k matching, but base and a few other key things went up so I’ll deal with it.
I would say no here unless you truly believe in the viability of the start up. In a year you will probably be making the same amount as the startup salary with almost no risk.
Took it. 👋✌️👋 Uncle D
Congrats. Let us know how you feel about it after a month.

Checking in… how did this go, OP? I’m facing a very similar decision.
