Any one familiar with comp for a Portfolio Associate roll at PIMCO on their mortgage backed securities team? I’m looking at an offer and want make sure I’m in line with the average comp for the company and industry. Only 4 months of experience and offer is 98k w/ 10-20% bonus plus 15k relo/ sign on. Looking at Glassdoor, bonuses seem higher than quoted by the hiring manager. (No written offer yet they say they’re still working on it)

Wouldn't you take a Promotion and then move to something more interesting?
I took the promotion. I'm lazy and they pay me a lot. I still need time to figure out what is best for me and what I'm passionate about
Get the promotion and get out; if you dont get the promotion folks will wonder why. Damaged goods.
I understand the attraction of getting promoted and appreciate the difficulty of, but with all the moaning on FB about work, I'd suggest doing something you enjoy. Surely you'd be happier and that would have broad knock on effects.
I heard it's harder to move as a VP to a different area so I would stay as Associate until something better comes along
The VP role is a PMO. And I am really used to analytical/technical work, which is why I am not sure...
I'm not associate to vp level, but in speaking to people who made that move the advice given to me is to stay as an analyst or associate until you get to where you want to be...then push for vp.
