Unionizing seems essential for associates at law firms, given the power imbalance between partners and associates and widespread labor law violations (discrimination, retaliation, etc.).
There was an ex-associate at my firm who was pushing hard for associates to unionize. Didn't really take.

There are lawyers who are unionized, like those who work for NYC and for legal services organizations. So I’m curious how they handle the striking/ethics concern, and also how they got their unions off the ground. There are nonprofits who consult on how to start unions, so that’s another avenue out there.
