Anyone with experience in the short term rental space willing to connect?

I was in the market for a first time home in New York but the market and rates got too out of hand. Recently pivoted to a few out of state options for an STR and would love to learn from someone who's set one up.

Thanks!

Curious to know what you've seen as working to non working dollars split in Canadian agencies. Reference any specific brands (or categories) if you can. I'm used to seeing the conventional 15-20% split for non working (production dollars only, not including media budget, agency fees) but are those days gone now with the takeover of digital (vs traditional) ad placements?

How much difference does have a LinkedIn profile pic have vs not having it?

Is it possible to find a good exit in a less populated area? I don’t want to be near a big city — I want a house and a big yard. But every single job that would be a good career move is in a big city. Do good jobs in small markets exist? How do you find them?

I’ve considered 100% remote roles, but it seems hard to progress in a career if I’m not physically present.

Has anyone successfully interfiled from eb3 back to eb2 after a job change to get their i-485 approved and green card processed... this is related to movement of dates in Oct 2020 when many of us from India downgraded from eb2 to eb3 because of eb3 india dates moving faster than eb2 and now eb2 final action dates are becoming current?

I’m so happy to say that after about 5 years of being here, I’m finally done with the exam!!! In a world full of internet trolls, it was so refreshing to be on this thread while we all cheered for each other and pushed each other to climb over our failures and discouragements. Thank you for all who have posted helpful comments, asked poignant questions and left their encouragement! If I can pass, you will pass! Best of luck everyone!

I work as an AGM in a busy restaurant. Been working there for just over a year, and haven't had a single raise. I now only make 0.50 cents more than even the lowest paid shift lead but I am doing a lot more work. I'm no longer satisfied with these conditions. Should I try to negotiate a raise or look for other opportunities?

If I should negotiate, any tips?

I had quite the day the other day. Still feeling gross about it. He was upset for no reason as far as I'm concerned.

Check the overtime laws for your state!!

I just recently worked 58.6 hours in a week, weekly pay, nice OT profit right? Depends on where you live.

In Iowa, there is no Overtime pay mandate, the overtime pay is at the discretion of the business. I received 58.6 hours of base pay for the week.

If the company makes less than $1 million per year or does not engage in intercontinental sales, the company is not required to pay the overtime rate of time and a half, just your base rate.

So I work as an assistant manager at a restaurant for the past 9 months. I've worked in restaurants for the past 6 years science I was 16. Now I'm 22. I went to a trade school for media and film. I got a dream opportunity to work in the field making about the same or 10% more. I told myself the only reason I'd leave this company is for this type of job. Should I take the chance at this job and leave the restaurant that is on the rise and growing?
